amdocs invests in amobee

- Amdocs Ventures has made tqo minority investments in Israeli start-ups: Amobee Media Systems Ltd. and Trivnet Ltd. Amobee developers mobile advertising server solutions for telecommunications providers, and Trivnet provide mobile-based transaction management capabilities
- According to Globes Online, Motorola Israel has chosen not to re-open the bidding for its local iDEN subsidiary MIRS Communications, and will instead move forward with the three existing bidders; mobile operator Pelephone, telco 012 Smile.
- The Finance Ministry intends to block the sale of the Mirs mobile services provider to its competitor Pelephone and has asked the Communications Ministry to step in to halt the deal immediately.
- Powermat is one of the first commercially available wireless charging systems on the market. Universal wireless charging has been promised for years, but Powermat is the first to actually deliver on that promise.

Modu is planning and android phone

- Modular mobile phone maker Modu has revealed to TechRadar that it’s planning an Android jacket for it’s new style of handset, where users can just slip their phone into the OS.
- WiMAX equipment supplier Alvarion Ltd. announced new wins with Clearwire International LLC and Kenyan mobile services provider Safaricom.
- Verizon Wireless said it is working with Amdocs Interactive, a division of Amdocs , the leading provider of customer experience systems, to help build and grow the recently launched Verizon Developer Community (VDC).
- Comverse announced that it is working with mobile handset manufacturer Sony Ericsson to provide visual voicemail on its handsets for residential and business users.

- Comverse announced that Netcom, a leading Norwegian mobile operator and part of the TeliaSonera group, is the first operator in the country to offer visual voicemail on the iPhone.
- 3GVision, the leading global supplier of mobile barcode reading solutions to the media industry, has announced that Serioustec, a provider of online and offline publishing solutions, has adopted the company’s barcode reader and backend tools as part of its Dakode solution, a mobile publishing and 2D barcode tracking platform.
- Cellcom and Partner Communications , Israel’s two largest mobile phone operators, have dropped out of the running to buy MIRS Communications Ltd from Motorola’s Israeli subsidiary.
- Altair Semiconductor, an Israel-based developer of chips for fourth generation (4G) mobile phones, launched a baseband chip for next-generation mobile Long Term Evolution technology on Wednesday.
