Ukraine’s Kyivstar Selects Comverse HUB Mobile Advertising Platform To Deliver Promotions to Subscribers’ Handsets

Written by admin on February 12, 2010 – 4:38 am

Comverse has been selected by Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest mobile operator with over 22 million users, to deploy a multi-channel mobile advertising platform in its network, allowing Kyivstar to launch targeted promotional campaigns to its subscribers.

Kyivstar will use the Comverse HUB Mobile Advertising platform with advanced targeting and analytics capabilities to promote its own products and services to subscribers via multiple channels, such as text messaging (SMS) and replies generated by self-service options made possible by Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD). For instance, balance notifications generated by Kyivstar’s existing prepaid billing system from Comverse will include promotions of Kyivstar’s own products.

To constantly improve results, advanced metrics will make it possible for Kyivstar to precisely track and fine tune the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. In addition, because the billing system is always on and available, Kyivstar is assured that these results are accurate and not skewed by system downtimes.

“Mobile advertising gives us creative new ways to enrich the user experience and provide subscribers with information and promotions relevant to them,” said Vitaliy Vorozhbyt, products management and development director at Kyivstar.

“We selected Comverse for their mobile advertising expertise across all channels around the globe,” Vorozhbyt said, “as well as their ability to integrate it with their systems already here, such as our existing Comverse prepaid billing system. This is especially important because our promotions will depend heavily on reliable, real-time information.”

Mobile Advertising is part of Comverse HUB Value-Added Services, spanning voice, messaging, mobile Internet and mobile advertising. Comverse HUB is a synergistic framework that enables service providers to maximize their business performance and augment their position in the market.

“By joining a growing group of innovative operators using the Comverse HUB Mobile Advertising platform, Kyivstar positions itself to tap into the mobile phone’s potential as the ultimate marketing tool,” said Dror Bin, President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world’s leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.

“Comverse makes mobile advertising more relevant to the user with a one-on-one approach, multiple touchpoints, and unsurpassed targeting capabilities,” Bin said. “The fact that we were able to easily install another Comverse solution within Kyivstar’s existing offering also shows how well Comverse products work together.”

At the upcoming Mobile World Congress meeting (Feb. 15 to 18) in Barcelona, visitors are invited to Hall 8 Booth B83 to experience the Comverse HUB Mobile Advertising platform and a wide range of Comverse demos. To schedule a meeting with Comverse, visitors are encouraged to make an online request.

Written by admin on December 20, 2009 – 4:56 am

omerantz Haudek Grossman & Gross LLP is pleased to announce that a settlement has been reached with Comverse Technology, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CMVT) (”Comverse”) and certain of its former officers and directors to resolve the securities class action pending in the Eastern District of New York, In re Comverse Technology, Inc. Sec. Litig., 06-1825 (NGG) (RER). The settlement will benefit investors in Comverse common stock during the period April 30, 2001 through January 29, 2008. The settlement provides for a $225 million payment to the class. Jacob “Kobi” Alexander, Comverse’s former Chief Executive Officer, will contribute $60 million, one of the largest recoveries from a former executive to settle a federal securities class action. Patrick Dahlstrom of Pomerantz commented, “We are very proud to have achieved this settlement, which represents a substantial recovery of damages incurred by the class.”

The parties intend to submit the settlement to the Court for preliminary approval immediately. If approved, the settlement represents the second largest options backdating settlement, and will be the largest settlement involving an Israeli institution serving as Lead Plaintiff.

Orange Cameroon Selects Comverse Voice HUB to Manage Growth, Power New Services on Mobile Network

comverse today announced that Orange Cameroon, part of France Telecom’s (NYSE: FTE)(FREE stock trend analysis) Orange global communications group, has selected the Comverse Voice HUB to replace a competitor’s system to handle projected growth and support the deployment of new voice-related services on its mobile network.

Comverse Voice HUB brings to Orange Cameroon a modular state-of-the-art platform that enables a range of voice services designed to generate revenue at each stage of a voice call.

In Cameroon, the Comverse services include:

  • Visual Voicemail, which notifies users by multimedia message (MMS)(FREE stock trend analysis) or email when a voicemail has been deposited. Users click to hear the message;
  • Who Called, which monetizes previously lost revenue opportunities by delivering network-based information that the handset alone cannot provide, such as the phone numbers of callers to subscribers whose handsets are busy or unreachable (turned off, out of battery or out of service range), as well as the phone numbers of callers who reach the voicemail system but do not leave a message; and
  • Notify Me, which alerts callers when unavailable parties become reachable.

As part of the Visual Voicemail service, subscribers also have access to the Comverse Web Inbox, where all voice and fax messages are directed to a single Web-based inbox with at-a-glance details about each message. With a click, Orange subscribers can access and manage all of their messages in any order from anywhere in the world. In addition, Comverse Web Self Care allows Orange subscribers to control major aspects of their voicemail services through the operator’s portal.

“Comverse’s modular Voice HUB and the new services it enables on a single platform squarely address our key concerns, such as innovation, a superior user experience, flexibility, future-readiness, and cost management,” said Jean Michel Latute, Chief Executive Officer at Orange Cameroon.

Orange Cameroon Chief Technical Officer Eric Diwouta Loth said that the experience of other Orange affiliates in Africa with Comverse’s products and services played a key role in selecting Comverse Voice HUB.

“By giving us the ability to easily launch additional services from third parties, the Voice HUB’s open environment will help us to quickly introduce new generations of applications to meet evolving customer expectations,” Loth said. “Being able to rapidly adapt to the requirements of the fast-paced and changing marketplace will enable us to maintain a qualitative edge in our competitive market.”

Comverse has provided Orange affiliates around the globe with products and services for many years. “We look forward to strengthening our ongoing partnership with Orange Cameroon, assisting them to increase subscriber satisfaction and generate new revenues,” said Dror Bin, President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world’s leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.

Comverse Voice HUB is part of the Comverse HUB Value-Added Services, which spans voice, messaging, mobile Internet and mobile advertising. Comverse HUB is a synergistic framework that enables service providers to maximize their business performance and augment their position in the market.
